Nancy Lee Rose Haney August 16, 2025
Nancy Lee Rose Haney of Orange, Virginia departed this life on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at the Culpeper Hospital. She was born in Indianapolis Indiana on December 6, 1942 to the late James Andrew Rose and Mary Lou Reynolds Rose. She was preceded in death by her late husband, “JB” James Barbour Haney of 53 years in marriage. She was proceeded in death by her late sister, Janice Marie Rose Laprade and surviving husband, Kenneth Laprade of Orange and late brother James Warren Rose and surviving wife, Carolyn Rose of Gordonsville.
She is survived by her son, Stephen James Haney and daughter in law Gina Berry Haney, grandson, Austin James Haney and wife Kristen Biller Haney, granddaughter, Clara Elizabeth Haney Coleman and husband Camden Coleman and great grandson, Kaulden Anthony Jackson Haney all of Orange. Special cousin, Benjamin Carroll of Wakefield Virginia, very special friend Nancy Peterson of Orange and nieces; Tonya Rose, Wendy Rose both of Gordonsville, Nancy Fincham and husband Jody of Orange and nephews, Warren Rose and wife Deb of Orange and Michael Laprade and wife Angela of Harrisonburg.
Nancy was a graduate of Orange County High school and Richmond business school. She grew up on a farm and carried her love and dedication for it, throughout her marriage with her husband JB and many years serving with the Orange County Fair. She was a lifelong member of Oak Chapel Baptist Church in Orange and a member of the Orange County 4H Fair Association. She retired after 43 years in banking and loved spending her time cooking wholesome country cooking, decorating for every season and visiting with family, friends and neighbors. Nancy didn’t know a stranger, she greeted you with a welcoming smile and a passion to feed you with her great country cooking “Known for the best cook in Orange County” and hospitality.
Visitation will be held at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Orange, on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 2 to 4 and a graveside service and interment on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 11 am at Graham Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Steve Johnson. The family will receive fellowship with friends and family at Oak Chapel Baptist Church at 11415 Montford Road, Orange following interment. Any donations may be payable to Oak Chapel Baptist Church in Nancy’s honor.
