Penny, a retired police officer, was the first female detective in Montgomery County, Md. She adored her dogs, horses, and selflessly supporting nearly anyone in need. She was known in Madison for her kindness, for volunteering, and for visiting local schools with her Golden Retriever therapy dog, Honey. 

She is survived by her son Dan Marton.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
