Frank Russell Fair May 10, 2025
Frank Russell Fair, a decorated Marine and devoted family man, passed away peacefully at his
home in Madison, VA, on May 10, 2025. A proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran and beloved member of the Madison community, Frank's legacy of service and dedication will be remembered by many.
Born on December 1, 1935, in Cedarhurst, Maryland, Frank was the son of the late Oliver Russell Fair and Margaret Mae Hewitt. From a young age, he embodied the values of service,
discipline, and dedication—qualities that would define his life.
Frank enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1953, serving honorably until 1961 and
rising to the rank of Sergeant. During his military career, he was awarded the National Defense
Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and the Good Conduct
Medal—testaments to his courage and commitment.
After his military service, Frank found joy and success in a career in the automobile industry. He
built a life centered around faith, family, and simple joys. He was an avid golfer and took great pride in maintaining his yard, finding peace in the outdoors and the rhythm of daily routines. Frank was known for his infectious laughter and his ability to make any situation enjoyable. He was a jokester at heart, always laughing and making a good time out of life, and he
had a unique talent for putting a smile on others' faces.
Frank and his wife, Teresa Lynne Fair, shared a love for travel, exploring new places and
creating cherished memories together. Above all, Frank was a devoted husband to Teresa, with
whom he shared 35 years of marriage.
“He was the rock of our family,” said Teresa. “His strength, kindness, and quiet wisdom touched everyone who knew him. His love was a guiding light, and his presence brought comfort and joy to our lives.”
Frank is survived by his wife, Teresa; his daughters Tiffany Johnson, Robin Mecler (husband
Steve), and Wendy Kline (husband Stewart); as well as his 7 grandchildren, 17
great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Janice Fair, and brother, Ernie Fair, who brought immense joy to his life.
The family welcomes flowers and condolences at their home: 138 Meadows Lane, Madison, VA
22727.
Frank Fair’s legacy of service, love, and humility will live on in the hearts of all who had the
privilege of knowing him. His memory will be cherished, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be touched by his life.
