Catherine Cecile Dollins                               June 1, 2025

Catherine Cecile Dollins, 82, of Zions Crossroads, VA passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the University of Virginia Hospital surrounded by her close family. She was born June 1, 1943 in Charlottesville VA, to the late Charles Thomas Dollins and Ethel Owen Dollins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Franklin Dollins; a son, Robert (Bobby) Fitzgerald Dollins; brother, William (Bill) C. Dollins Sr.; a grandchild, Ashley Franklin; a great-grandchild, Hank Franklin and a half-sister, Virginia Crace.

Catherine, lovingly known as “Kay,” lived a life defined by unconditional love. She had a rare gift for seeing the good in everyone, no matter their path or circumstance. Her sweet smile and joyous laughter lit up every room and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Kay cherished life’s simple joys. She loved lighthouses, trips to the beach—especially the Chesapeake Bay—cooking meals for her loved ones, fishing, listening to music, and reading her daily devotionals. Above all, she found her greatest happiness in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow. Though life wasn’t always easy, Kay met every challenge with grace, resilience, and a steadfast devotion to her family, friends, and faith. She taught us, through her example, that with love, faith in the Lord, and an open heart, all things are possible. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering love will live on in all of us.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Fay Dollins Franklin and her son, James Anthony Dollins, both of Zion Crossroads; her sister Frances (Fran) Barnett of Charlottesville; her grandchildren Robert (Brandon) Franklin and his wife Heather Franklin of Zion Crossroads and Tim Franklin and his wife Casey Franklin of Orange; and great-grandchildren Heath, Harper, Reid, Shelby, Caroline, Melody, and Clyde. She is also survived by her special niece, Donna Harris along with several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

A memorial service will be held 11:00am on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Mechanicsville Bapt. Church in Gordonsville, Virginia.
