Rachel Hurt Morris, 87, of Constitution Highway, Unionville, died on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Dogwood Village of Orange. She was born on June 6, 1938, in Orange County and was the daughter of the late Curtis Gilliam Hurt and Emma Vaughan Hurt. She is also preceded in death by her husband, David Glen Morris Sr., son, Donald Gillium Morris, and sister, Barbara A. Floyd.

She is survived by two sons David Glen “Buck” Morris Jr. and wife Cheryl of Unionville, and Danny Gene “Dean” Morris of Unionville; a daughter-in-law Katina R. “Tina” Morris of Orange; a “adopted daughter” Debbie Davis of Unionville; two grandchildren Austyn Elizabeth Morris and Clayburn Gene Morris; three sisters Sue Shifflett and husband James of Unionville, Debra J. Hurt of Madison, and Sharon Rothbaum and husband Paul of Madison; a brother Curtis Junior “C J” Hurt and wife Penny of Unionville; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Preddy Funeral Chapel, Orange, with interment in the Graham Cemetery, Orange. Rev. David Knighton will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Preddy Funeral Home in Orange.
