Wilmer Andrew "Sonny" Carpenter Jr.

Wilmer Andrew "Sonny" Carpenter Jr., 84, of Constitution Hwy, Orange died on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville. Sonny was born on September 26, 1938 in Culpeper County and was the son of the late Wilmer Andrew Carpenter Sr. and Curtis Lena Hensley Carpenter. He was also predeceased by a daughter Regina Ann Crews; and a brother David Henry Carpenter.

Sonny was a member of the Walkers United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 156 of Orange,  was retired from the Safeway Grocery Store, and was an Army Veteran.

Sonny is survived by his wife Barbara Booker Carpenter of Orange; two daughters Valerie Carpenter Griffith and husband Steven of Sandston, and Katrina Ashley Carpenter of Orange; three grandchildren Nicholas Andrew Pritchard, Mila Autumn Dixon, and Hunter Evan Knox.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 2:00 P. M. graveside at the Walkers United Methodist Church. Pastor Richard Grendahl is officiating. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
