Warren Scott Aylor

Warren Scott Aylor, 60, of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away peacefully at UVA Culpeper Medical Center on September 3, 2026.

Warren was born on March 14, 1966, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital in Culpeper, Virginia. He was the son of Gerlene Aylor and the late Jesse Roy Aylor.

Warren was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Roy Aylor.

He is survived by his mother, Gerlene Aylor; his sister, Wendy Aylor; and his three sons, Warren Scott Aylor Jr., Brandon Lee Aylor, and Brayden Owen Aylor; and stepbrother, David Franklin Sweet. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Brandon Lee Aylor, Jr., Bryson Jesse Owen Aylor, Bransyn Jesse Lee Aylor, Warren Scott Aylor, III, Madison Nicole Aylor; one nephew, Jarrett Weakley; and a very special daughter-in-law, Jessica, to whom many thanks go out for all that she did for Warren.

Warren owned and operated H&A Tree Service, where he spent 44 years doing landscaping, tree work, and delivering firewood to families throughout the Washington, D. C. and Maryland area. He took pride in his work and was the kind of man who believed in working hard, getting the job done, and helping someone when they needed it.

Outside of work, Warren loved the outdoors. Some of his happiest times were spent camping, trout fishing, and Dayton Beach trips. He was also a devoted Dale Earnhardt fan and never missed an opportunity to talk racing.

But perhaps what Warren will be remembered for most was not his work, his hobbies, or even his many stories; it was the way he treated people. He was a good, decent man with a generous heart, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to help others. He worked hard, loved deeply, and left an impression on far more people than he probably ever realized.

Warren leaves behind more than memories. He leaves behind the people he helped, the hands he shook, the conversations he had, the favors he did, and the countless lives he touched simply by being Warren. His familiar “Hey, young lady” or “Hey, young man” may be heard no more, but for those who knew him, that voice and the man behind it will never be forgotten.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison. Pastor Jeff Shifflett will be officiating, and interment will be in Criglersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at the funeral home.
