Virginia Lee Dyer

Virginia Lee Dyer, of Madison, VA, passed away in Charlottesville, VA, on June 18, 2026.

She was born on October 8, 1935, at Rock Point, MD, to the late Herbert Ayers, and Minnie Wise.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Lee Dyer; sons, Roger Lee Dyer and Billy Norton Dyer; four sisters Shelby Faye, Melvina Mulvey, Doris Bailey, and Barbara Gross.

She was a member of the Our Lady of Blue Ridge Catholic Church.

Virginia is survived by her two sons, William Wayne Dyer (Robin), and Timothy F. Dyer (Tammy) all of Madison; her brother, Herbert Ayers Jr. (Judy) of Cross City, FL; her grandchildren, Travis Wayne Dyer (Emily), Leigh Ann Raines (Fletcher), Chandler S. Dyer, Chelsey Sesay (Nikita); eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at Etlan Cemetery, conducted by pastor Josh Shifflett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA, 22902.
