On April 10th, 2026, Tod Adam Boyd, 63, of Stanardsville, VA entered the Gates of Glory as a faithful servant of his Lord Jesus Christ. Tod was born on November 18th, 1962, in Steubenville, Ohio, to the late Emerson and Shirley Boyd of Irondale He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Kathy Ruiz and Joy Boyd; and his nephew Aaron Boyd.
Tod grew up on the Boyd family farm in Ross Township Ohio, where his love of nature and fixing machinery shaped his life and career. Tod was a graduate of Springfield High School and went on to earn his associate degree in electronic engineering from the Electronic Technology Institute in Cleveland, Ohio. He went on to work for Northrop and Interferometric before working the next 30 years at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory as a Technical Specialist. Tod’s love for science and outer space, along with his extensive knowledge, skill, and dedication, led to him receiving numerous awards and recognition throughout his career at NRAO. Tod was an active and beloved member of his church, Faith Alive Fellowship, where his knowledge and love for the Lord will be greatly missed.
Tod is survived by his loving wife Wendy; sons Nathanael (fiancé Joyanna Struzzieri), Jesse, and Josiah, and daughter Rachael Boyd; brother Danny (Janna) Boyd; father & mother-in-law James and Carol Pienovi; aunts-in-law Angie Svoboda, Dori Stark, and Becky Johnson; sister-in-law Brandee Calderon and Randee Onion; nephews Joel (Breanne) and Elisha Boyd, Antonio and Mateo Calderon, and Andrew and Daniel Onion; great nephews Danny, Eliel, and Liam Boyd; and great niece Catherine Boyd.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17th from 5 pm to 7 pm, and the funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 18th, both at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison, Va. A short graveside service will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville.
