Tilman "Ted" David Wood

He was preceded in death by his siblings John, Allus, Barbara, Mary, and Shirley. Ted is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Wood, his much-loved son David Wood and his wife Jamie, and two cherished grandsons Jacob Wood and his fiancé Emily Goodson, and Joshua Wood.

Ted was a graduate of Lane High School and served in the United States Army. After his military duty, he worked for Charlottesville Office Machine Company, eventually owning the business. He retired at the age of 90 after 68 years of repairing and restoring typewriters and office equipment.

Ted was a member of Mount Eagle Baptist Church. He served in many ways as part of his calling from Christ. He was a deacon, lay preacher, and Sunday School teacher.

The family will receive friends at Northside Baptist Church, located at 1325 East Rio Road, Charlottesville, VA on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Beaver Dam Baptist Church cemetery, located at 1794 Richmond Road, Troy, VA.
