Thurston Wendell Brock

Thurston Wendell Brock, 47, of Barboursville Virginia, passed away on March 2, 2026, unexpectedly at UVA Medical Center. Born on April 3, 1978, in Charlottesville, Virginia, Thurston spent his life rooted in the Greene County community where he was born and raised.
Thurston is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Steppe; his mother, Barbara Ann Brock; his siblings, Wanda Brock, Chris Brock, and Sabrina Wilson; 1 uncle Michael Brock (Carolyn Brock wife) and 5 aunts, Gloria Taylor , Lula Burley, Alice Coles, Florence Tibbs, and Barbara Brock. He also leaves behind a large extended family that includes 13 nieces, 7 nephews, 5 great-nieces, and 4 great-nephews.
Thurston was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Brock; his grandmothers, Barbara Massie and Ocie Mallory Brock; his uncles Perry Massie, Harry Brock, Vance Brock, and James Williams; his aunt Deloise Williams; and his cousin James Williams Jr.
Thurston’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him. May those who loved him find comfort in remembering the moments they shared with him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Union Ridge Baptist Church 2980 Hydraulic Road, Charlottesville Va. 22901
