Jane Crigler Spivey, 71, died peacefully at Poet’s Walk in Warrenton on June 11, 2026. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alan Spivey, and parents, Bob and Sarah Crigler.
A lifelong Madison resident, she was the owner of “On the Run Farm” in Aroda. She worked for 45 years as a social worker for the Rapidan- Rapahananock Community Service Board. She worked selflessly to make sure other people were well cared for, included, and seen.
Jane was a huge supporter of her family, an avid trail rider, a knitter, a lover of a yard sale, and a dear friend to so many.
She is survived by her daughter Allison Spangler (Eric) as well as her siblings: Pam Nelson (Jim), John Crigler (Kathy), Ann Fondren (Robert), many nieces and nephews, a granddaughter, Julia Spangler and Eric’s parents, Jim and Stephanie Spangler.
Family Night will be held at Preddy’s Funeral Home in Madison (59 Edgewood School Ln. Madison, Va 22727) on Tuesday, June 16th from 5-7pm and a graveside service on Wednesday, June 17th at 2pm at Hebron Lutheran Church (899 Blankenbaker Rd. Madison, Va 22727) with reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Madison Emergency Service (MESA) 927 Orange Rd. Madison, Va 22727.
