Rodney Matthew Sisson, age 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Culpeper Hospital, surrounded by loved ones, following a brief illness.
Born to the late Robert Garfield Sisson and Cynthia Gail Sisson, Rodney lived a life full of love, and devotion to family.
Rodney is survived by his beloved, Amy; his children, Christopher Sisson of Oceanside, California; Candace "CJ" Ward (Greg) of Gallatin, Tennessee; and Cooper Sisson of Orange, Virginia. He is also survived by his beloved stepchildren: Dakota Byram (Jessica) of Orange; Cameron Byram (Torie) of Gordonsville; and Logan Byram (Lauren) of Spotsylvania. Rodney also adored his grandchildren, Wyatt, Owen, Erick and Jillian. His greatest pride was in his children, who were his most cherished blessings and achievements. In addition, he leaves behind several special cousins and uncles who held a dear place in his heart.
Rodney proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and carried that pride throughout his life. Known for his friendly nature, he never met a stranger—Rodney loved to share stories, make friends, and brighten the day of anyone he met. He was also an avid golfer, a loyal friend, and someone who loved his family fiercely.
Rodney will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A celebration of Rodney's life will be held at a later date. Preddy Funeral Home Orange Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
