Robert Aubrey Shepherd

Robert Aubrey Shepherd, 95 of Rochelle, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at his home. He was born on November 16, 1929 to the late Robert Henry Shepherd and Nellie Virginia Carpenter Shepherd. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Irene Shepherd; sister, Maxine Shepherd Ford; brothers-in-law, James "Jimmy" Ford and James "Toliver" Utz; one step-great-grandchild, Mary Katherine

Aubrey was a long-time farmer in Madison County and the owner of Utz and Shepherd, Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Mouberry Shepherd; sons, Bruce Alan Shepherd and wife Connie, Harry Dean Shepherd and wife Sandra, Steven Brown Shepherd and wife Rhonda; step-daughter, Gayle Shifflett; step-sons, James Mike Shifflett and wife Dreama; Delmar Wayne Shifflett and wife Tina, Joseph "Joe" Edward Shifflett and friend Marlena Marshall; sister, Betty Shepherd Utz; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 20 step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with Pastor Gary Utz officiating. Interment will be private at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
