Robert Wayne Modena, 70, of Maddox Drive, Orange died on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. Wayne was born March 1, 1951 in Orange and was the son of the late William Minor Modena and Rosalie Colvin Modena.

Wayne was the owner and operator of the State Farm Insurance Office in Orange. He was a member of the Orange Presbyterian Church, the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Alliance, a Life Member of the Orange County Rescue Squad, a graduate of Virginia Tech., a co-founder of the Virginia Tech Rescue, and the Army Reserves.

Wayne is survived by his wife Kimberly Highlander Modena of Orange; a daughter Stephanie M. Gillan and husband Elliott of Charlottesville; a son Robert Wayne Modena II and wife Sheila of Manassas; three grandchildren Ellie Gillan, Natalie Modena, and Robbie Modena; and one sister Roxanne M. Hagan and husband Colin of Ruckersville, and many other family and friends.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
