Rachel Baldwin Clarke

Rachel Baldwin Clarke 83 of Troy passed away Friday, September 27, 2024 in the University of Virginia Hospital. She was born June 30, 1941 in Appomattox, Virginia to the late Hoyal Rosser Baldwin and Bessie Tolbert Baldwin. She was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters and a grandson, John Taylor Kern.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert V. Clarke Jr.; daughters, Molly B. Clarke (Jerry) of Brooksville, FL, Flynn C. Kern (Scott) of Louisa; sister, Marie Hodges of Richmond; sisters-in-law, Georgie Baldwin of Crewe, VA, Suellen Good of Rockingham; grandchildren, Robert E. Reese Jr., James C. Reese (Ashley), David R. Reese (Shauna), Samantha F. Kern (Jerry), Amanda J. Kern (Korey) Brandon S. Kern; five great-grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Zion United Methodist Church with interment in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm Tuesday evening at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville.
