Phyllis Ann Knighting Jarrell

Phyllis Ann Knighting Jarrell passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024. She was born in Brightwood, Virginia, on January 16, 1942. She was preceded in death by her son, James (Jimmy) Jarrell, Jr.; her former husband, James Jarrell; her parents, Julia Weaver and Benny Knighting; and her sister, Kathy Ratliff. She is survived by her children, Stephen Jarrell (Jean), Travis Jarrell (Cherie), and daughter-in-law, Pam Jarrell; her grandchildren, Dylan Jarrell, Jake Jarrell, Bryan Jarrell, Sarah Jarrell, Nicky Allen, Joe Jarrell, Bo Jarrell, and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Nixon, Carol Fox (Jim), and Jo-Dell Page and brother, Mike Wilkinson (Cindy).

Phyllis never met a stranger and could always trace a person's ancestry. She loved being outside and keeping busy with many projects. She has been referred to as a jack of all trades. Phyllis loved helping others and has touched the lives of many people over the years. She was loved by all who knew her.

A private memorial service will be held by her family at a later date.

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and Autumn Care Nursing Home for their loving care and support in the last weeks of her life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice in Charlottesville, Virginia.
