Siblings and Relatives

Mercy Njeri was sister to the late Faith Wahito, Stephen Waithaka and twin to the late Nancy Wangari. She was the granddaughter of Francis Njoroge & Jane Njeri and the late Stephen Waithaka and Jane Wahito.

She was niece to Peter Chege, Charles Chege, Jeremiah Mbugua, James Gichina, David Mburu, Hannah Waruguru and others.

EDUCATION LIFE

Mercy attended Mahianyu Primary School, Mahianyu, St Monica Academy, Mahianyu and lastly Echoes of Joy Academy, Nakuru where she completed her primary school education.

She then attended Orange County High School, USA where she excelled so well and got an admission letter from her dream choice university, Liberty University. However, Mercy attended Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) a great community college where she pursued her dream career of nursing. She had a huge desire in caring for people and giving them support to their very last point of need. Mercy`s zeal of education will forever be an inspiration that even on the verge of death, she was so hopeful and optomistic to graduate. She unfortunately passed on while at the finish line of graduating.

Awards and Honors

2. National Honor Society based on scholarship, service, leadership and character - PVCC

SOCIAL LIFE AND CHRISTIAN LIFE

Mercy was a born again believer, and served in the music Ministry at Lighthouse Baptist Church of Charlottesville where she served faithful to the very end.

Mercy was a force that drew many people closer to her and a light that brightened people`s lives. She was a best friend to all. Her cheerful, sweet personality and kind heart made her likeable by everyone. She found pleasure in photography and pictures editing that she enjoyed doing during her leisure time and above all travelling to explore new states, cities and towns.

Mercy was a young lady of remarkable courage, unwavering faith, kindness and grace. Though cancer fought her body, it never conquered her spirit. Her faith was refined by the trials and the pain produced faith maturity. Even though our hearts grieve her loss, heaven gained an angel.

HEALTH AND ILLNESS

Mercy has been courageously fighting cancer since 2018. She travelled from Kenya to the USA in January 2019 for advanced treatment through the generosity of friends and family, together with the support of the Department of State through a medical visa. After a very difficult battle, she experienced a season of recovery but last year the cancer came back and spread aggressively. She received treatments from John Hopkins Hospital, Virginia Cancer Specialists, Reston Hospital Center and University of Virginia Hospital where she passed on due to malignant compression of pulmonary arteries and malignant pleural effusions and progression of metastatic myxoid liposarcoma.

Rest in peace our dear one
