Ragland, Matthew, 97, of Henrico, VA, transitioned on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on July 28, 1927, in Louisa County, VA, to the late John Wesley Ragland and Earline Lewis Ragland Maupin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Ragland, his two sons, Earl and Norman Ragland, and grandson, Donald Ross III. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Maxine Ross, Monica Pruitt (Victor), and Tangalia Timberlake (Shelby). Grandchildren: Monica Minus (Daryl), Earl Ragland Jr. (Erica), Erek Ragland (Stephanie), Alecia Campbell (Lenny), Amie and Lillie Timberlake, Marco, Marian, Adris and Tatiana Ragland.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 4-6 p.m., at Preddy Funeral Home, 301 South Main Street, Gordonsville, VA 22942
A Legacy of Love service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2025, at House of God Church, 5442 Columbia Road, Gordonsville, VA 22942, with viewing one hour prior to service. Interment at House of God Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the House of God Cobham, P.O. Box 230, Keswick, VA 22947 (In memory of Matthew Ragland).
