Mary Gentry Shifflett

Mary Gentry Shifflett, 75 of Stanardsville, Va., passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at The Habor in Stanardsville. She was born on May 20, 1950 to the late Tobias Junior Gentry and Dorothy Breeden Gentry. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Wayne Shifflett.
She is survived by her son, Harold Wayne Shifflett Jr. (Hank) and wife Kelly; brothers, Harold Gentry, Phillip Gentry, John Gentry; sisters, Charlotte Collier, Barbara Shifflett, Emmogene Collier, Melinda Smith; grandchildren, Jared Shifflett, and Jenna Shifflett.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Trinity Hospice and The Harbor, for the attentive and loving care they provided to Mary. The family also wishes to express gratitude to Mary’s church community at Nortonsville Church of God. Mary found joy, love, friendship, support, and solace in her church family.
Private graveside services will be held in honor of Mary for close friends and family at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Eddie Deane officiating.
Preddy Funeral Home in Madison is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Trinity Hospice and The Alzheimer’s Association.
