Mary Ellis Benson, 70, of Cedar Hollow Road, Unionville died on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the University of Virginia Hospital Charlottesville. She was born on November 8, 1951 in Bluff City, TN. and was the daughter of the late Oscar Ellis and Martha Mabe Ellis. She is also predeceased by three brothers Delmer Ellis, Barty Ellis, and Allen Estes; and four sisters Dorothy Woolfrey, Betty Hartley, Alice Meadows, and Nancy Ellis.

She is survived by her husband Charles Franklin Benson; one daughter Arline Rupard of Rapidan; one adopted daughter Marie Weaver of Madison; two sons Michael Breeden of Unionville, and Derak Rupard of Rapidan; thirteen grandchildren; one brother George Ellis of Culpeper; five sisters Shirley Bailey of Culpeper, Barbara Bailey of Ohio, Patsy Woodward of Elkwood, Kathy Ellis of SC, and Ann Haught of Culpeper.

A celebration of life will held at a later date. Preddy Funeral Home of Orange is assisting the family.
