Malinda Armstrong Carter, 65, of Orange Virginia, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the University of Virginia Hospital.

She was born August 24, 1956 on St. Simons Island, GA to the late Rosa Mae Thomas.

She received her K-12 education through Glynn County School system. Then later graduated from National Business College in Charlottesville, Virginia with a degree in business and a certificate in medical coding.

She married the late Daniel J. Carter, Sr on April 15, 1975 and moved to Virginia where she started her family. She worked for many years as a homemaker before starting her career at technicolor until health conditions arose.

As a young adult she spent time sewing and enjoyed going out dancing with friends and family. She also loved to cook, read and watch her game shows. But what she treasured most was her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J. Carter, Sr, mother, Rosa M. Thomas, Grandmother, Lucinda Armstrong, brother, Milton Armstrong, mother-in-law, Nellie Chiles and grandparents-in-law Ralph and Helen Carter.

She is survived by one son, Daniel J. Carter, Jr, Three daughters: Matrissa D. Carter, Tiffany N. Carter and Sherrell M. Carter, Two brothers: Loyranzy Armstrong and Maisel Thomas (Angela), Eleven grandchildren; Marquis K. Maddox, Shawn M. Carter, Jr, Ashantice D. Carter, Brian E. Johnson, Jr, Kenyon L. D. Carter, Kyrie D. Carter, Aliyas J. Carter, Nikaria T. D. Carter, Keviah D. Anderson, K'vona M. Anderson, Nikyia D. M. Carter, six great grandchildren with the seventh arriving 2022, two brothers-in-law: Victor Carter and Donald Carter, four sister-in-laws Mary Hughes (Jacob), Barbara Hughes (James), Phyllis Wilson and Patricia Johnson. A host of cousins relatives and friends.

Service's being held at Preddy's Funeral Home in Gordonsville, Virginia, Friday December 10, 2021 with viewing from 1-2 p.m. and funeral at 2 p.m. Grave side burial at a later date in St. Simons Island, Ga.
