Marjorie Anne Colvin Reid, a lifelong resident of Orange, Virginia, passed away peacefully in Charlottesville on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the age of 96, surrounded by her loving family.

Marjorie was born on March 15, 1930, in the comfort of her family home on Belleview Avenue in Orange. She was the beloved daughter of the late Frank Lindsay Mack "Doc" Colvin and Hilda Olivia Burgess Colvin.

A proud graduate of Orange High School, Marjorie was incredibly popular among her peers and shined as a talented player on the Varsity basketball team. Following high school, she pursued higher education, attending both James Madison University and the Richmond Professional Institute.

Marjorie’s professional life was defined by her steadfast loyalty and hard work. She dedicated her entire adult life to the family business, Colvin Motor Lines Inc., where she served faithfully as the office manager and secretary. Her sharp mind, reliability, and steady presence were foundational to the company's daily operations.

Deeply rooted in her faith, Marjorie was a lifelong, devoted member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Orange, where she attended services regularly and cherished her church community. Above all, Marjorie dearly loved her family. While she kept the wheels turning at the family business, her greatest joy came from her loved ones, and she held a special, immense affection for her many nieces and nephews.

Marjorie is survived by her loving sister, Sarah Marlene Colvin Jones, as well as a large and cherished extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, James Lindsay Colvin and Frank John Anderson Colvin.
