Lutie Maxine Snow Donaghy, age 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommy, whom she loved deeply and missed dearly. Her family finds comfort in knowing they are reunited once again.
She is survived by her sister Pearline Hurt, daughter, Teresa Weaver and her husband Erik, and their children, Erin and Katie; and her son, Keith Donaghy and his wife Hope, children Brandon and Bradley. She is also lovingly remembered by her multiple great-grandchildren, all of whom were the center of her life.
Maxine was a simple woman in the very best sense—strong-willed, determined, and full of personality. She preferred the quiet comfort of family over the bustle of town and especially enjoyed peaceful days spent outdoors.
Many will remember Maxine from her time working behind the counter at Grymes Drug Store, or sitting side by side with Tommy playing bingo on Friday and Saturday nights. These simple moments reflected the steady, loving life they shared together.
In her final months, the family is eternally grateful for the compassionate care she received from the staff at Dogwood Village. They became more than caregivers—they became part of our family.
A private gathering will be held for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Dogwood Village Foundation in appreciation of the care and kindness shown to her and her loved ones.
