Luther Joseph “Butch” Sesler
Luther J. “Butch” Sesler, 85, of Orange, Va., passed away February 26, 2026, at home.
Butch was born September 9, 1940 in Alexandria, Va., to Luther A. Sesler and Regina A. Beymer. As a teen, his family relocated to Fauquier County, where he meet his future wife, Charlotte Sullivan. They were married in April 1959 and together raised 4 children: Cheryl, Darryl, Tracy, and Brandon.
Butch was a hardworking man of many careers, but enjoyed spending time outdoors in all of them. He retired from Found and Sons and had also worked for Piedmont Precasts Vaults. In his free time, he enjoyed classic cars and his motorcycle, woodworking, clock collecting, and reading and watching old Westerns.
Butch is survived by his wife of 66 years, Charlotte; sisters Marjorie Heflin, Barbara Ogburn, and Rosalie Welch; and sister-in-law Ann Dodson. He is also survived by his children: Cheryl Orye (Cliff Bruneau), Darryl Sesler (Jeannie), Tracy Wines (Robert), and Brandon Sesler (Stacy); his 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Butch was preceded in death by his parents and 9 siblings.
Services will be private. The family extends their thanks to Orange County Emergency Services.
