Luther moved to Dogwood Village in Orange in 2020.

Luther is survived by his sisters, Betty Coleman of Orange and Linda Devine of Norfolk, nieces and nephews David Coleman (Laura), Catherine Strader (David), Patrick Devine, Jr (Vicki), Michael Devine (Laurie), William Devine (Alicia) and Thomas Townsend (Robyn), as well as 11 grand- and 6 great-grand-nieces and nephews.
