Lucy Mildred Howell

Lucy Jenkins Howell, 91 of Culpeper, Va., passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Dogwood Village Nursing Home in Orange, Va. Lucy was born on August 17, 1935 to the late George Clifton Jenkins and Mary Catherine Coates Jenkins Weakley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Donnell Howell, Sr.; daughter, Pamela Rose Howell; granddaughter, Julie Gray; sisters, Lilly Jenkins (Homer), Alice Buckingham (Harry); brothers, Thomas Jenkins (Clair), Lester Jenkins (Mary), James Jenkins, and William Jenkins.

Lucy had a true zest for life. She loved dancing and getting dressed up. Her love of family cannot be replaced, only remembered. Lucy was married to Charles Donnell Howell, Sr. for 63 years in their home on Scott Drive in Manassas Park.

Lucy is survived by her children, Charles (Chuck) Howell (Carol) and Sharon Day; grandchildren, Donnell Howell (Krystal), Brad Howell, Jennifer Shaw (Eric); great-grandchildren, Lacie Zier Howell, Brett Howell, Braden Howell, Cash Shaw, Mason and Logan Gray; niece, Joyce Jenkins Aylor; and a host of additional family and friends.

The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful people at Dogwood Village in Orange, Va.
