Lucille Call Carpenter, 89 of Oak Park, Va. passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025. She was born on February 29, 1936 to the late Elmer Reid Call and Frances Ann May Call. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Michael Harold Carpenter and son Michael H. Carpenter.

Lucille lived in Madison County all of her life and had a love for the county. She enjoyed participating in all sorts of activities, especially related to farming, 4-H Clubs, Madison County High School sports and the New York Yankees.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce C. East of Oak Park; sons, Richard Wayne Carpenter of Madison; and Gerald "Jerry" Allen Carpenter and wife Kathy of Oak Park; grandchildren, Laura Massey and husband David, Justin Reid Carpenter, Katlin Faye Carpenter, Ashley Brooke Carpenter, Karri Frances Carpenter, Mary-Kate Carpenter, Michael Allen Carpenter; step-grandson, Travis Cash and wife Kathy; great-grandchild, Caroline Massey; two step-great-grandson, Jarret and Trevor Cash.

The family wishes to thank Deborah Morgan and Doris Fincham for the loving care they gave to our mother.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison with Pastor Tim Duggins officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Community Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the funeral home.
