Loretta Clatterbuck, 63, of Orange, passed away peacefully at UVA Medical Center on October 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 4, 1962, to Frances Brookman and the late Cary Brookman. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her brother, Stacey Brookman; her sisters, Sandra McClung and Lois Middleton; and a nephew, Justin Brookman.
She is survived by her daughter, Emily Nethercutt of Orange; mother, Frances Brookman of Gordonsville; longtime significant other, Wallace Dabney of Orange and his children, Kelly Phelps (Tom) of Orange, Wallace "Lee" Dabney Jr. (Wendy) of Unionville, and Daman Dabney (Kadlin) of Tenessee; brothers, Michael Brookman (Janice) of Gordonsville and Kenny (Karen) of Missouri; niece, Jennifer Campbell of Missouri; and two very special dog “babies,” Dolly and Elly.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all the staff at UVA Medical Center, the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center, and especially to Dr. Stephen Lockey for his compassion and kindness while taking care of mom, as well as to the nurses at UVA ICU who kept mom comfortable during the end of her life.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 2 PM, at Graham Cemetery in Orange.
