Lonnie Nelson Taylor

Lonnie Nelson Taylor, Sr., 80 of Stanardsville, Va., passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 5, 1945 in Charlottesville and raised by his grandmother, Mary Lamb.
He was a member of the Wolftown Pentecostal Church, retired from MPS in Orange, and
was a Vietnam veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Odine Taylor; son, Eddie Thomas and wife Michelle of Louisa; grandchildren, Savannah Thomas and friend Dan Stacy, Christa Cassell and husband Matt, Taylor Payne, and Carly Payne; great-grandchildren, Emery and Carter Cassell and Bryleigh Payne.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 2, 2025 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with Pastor Jeff Shifflett officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville.
