Larry Ronald Clark, 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 12, 2026.

He was born in Wytheville, VA, to Harry and Mary Suthers Clark, of Roanoke, VA.

Larry graduated from St. Petersburg High School, St. Petersburg, FL, and earned an A.A.P. degree from Northern Community College (Cum Laude) in Annandale, VA. He was an Army veteran. After service, he joined the FBI in Washington, DC, where he met his loving wife, Janet, and was married for 58 years. Later, he pursued his law enforcement career by joining the Fairfax County Police Dept in Fairfax, VA, holding positions in the park police, patrol, and crime prevention divisions, where he initiated the neighborhood watch program. After 20 years, he retired to join the Northern Virginia Community College campus police in Manassas, VA, as the chief for 15 years. Larry received many letters of commendation and awards for his dedicated and outstanding service.

Larry and Janet retired to a slower pace of country living in Central VA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Patricia Becraft, and her husband, Robert BeCraft. He is survived by his wife, Janet, and children, Kathlynn (John) Tatum, Karen Clark, and Jonathan (Jaimie) Clark; grandchildren, MaryAnne Abel, Richard (Felicia) Abel, Laura Abel, Laney Breeden, and Mina Clark; nephew, Clark (Shannon) BeCraft and great-nephews, Issac and Robert; niece, Ginger (Dean) Cole and great-niece, Emma.

Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his tractor and motorcycle, and reading his bible. His favorite verses are Prov. 3:5&6 and Psa. 118:24
The family wishes to thank all their friends and neighbors for all the help and support in their time of need. Also, to the Hospice of the Piedmont for their care in recent weeks.

Per Larry’s wishes, he will be cremated and buried at Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, VA, with no services.
