Kenneth Edward Hurst, 81 of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at his home. He was born on July 3, 1941 to the late Clarence Lester Hurst, Sr. and Leitha Rae Alexander Hurst. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth E. Hurst, Jr.; three brothers; and one sister;

Kenneth served in the U.S. Marine Corp, was a professional firefighter for Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department, and a member of Hebron Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Trent Hurst; daughters, Connie Hurst Papke and husband John of Brightwood, Paige Hurst Mitchell and husband Deve of Madison, and Roxanne Hurst Coffey of Herndon; son, Joseph Edward Hurst and wife Amy of Madison; grandchildren, Trent Papke and wife Liv, Brittney and Brian Frick, Jake Royston, Corey and wife Gabrielle Fox, Cierra Scott, Jonathan Scott, Lillie Hurst, Logan Hurst, and Ethan Hurst; and eleven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 4:30 pm on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Hebron Lutheran Church with Pastor Jason Darty and Rev. Dr. Jerrold Foltz officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison, Va.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
