Kenneth O. Brookman

Kenneth Brookman, 89, of Orange, Va., died on November 3, 2026.

Born May 20, 1937, he was the son of the late Eugene and Sudie Brookman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Margeret Parr and husband Sonny, Christine Napier and husband Ellis, Patty Brookman, and Kate Brookman; brothers Eugene Brookman, and Raymond Brookman and wife Ruby; a baby brother, Richard Brookman; and a brother-in-law, Luther Dodson.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jean Brookman, who through every chapter of his life was by his side, offering endless love, support, and devotion. He is also survived by his children, Kenny (Missy), Bonnie (John), Gary, Allen (Jeanette), Lisa (Provin), and Bruce (Tammy); many grand and great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Dodson; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Kenneth spent much of his career as a golf course greenskeeper. He had a love for his work, taking pride in every detail and finding happiness in caring for the course. His work was not simply what he did, but a reflection of who he was.

The entire Brookman family would like to thank the doctors and medical team at Sentara Martha Jefferson, Cornell and Wendell units, Dr. Christopher Kramer, cardiologist, and Orange Family Physicians for their compassion and kindness they showed Kenneth. Their dedication and support is deeply appreciated.

The family will receive guests at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Preddy Funeral Home in Orange, followed by a graveside service at 12 noon, at Graham Cemetery.
