Kenneth Eugene Allen, 76, of Madison, VA, passed away at his home with his wife by his side on January 28, 2026. He was born on February 20, 1949, in Amherst, VA, to the late Eldridge B. Allen and Roxie Allen Brown. He was preceded in death by his brothers Raymond F. Allen, Eldridge W. Allen, Robert L. Allen, Henry L. Allen, and Jimmy W. Allen; his sister, Roxanne Hill; and his beloved pets, Homer T, Thomas, Lilly, and Bella.

The love of his life survives Kenneth, his wife of 40 years, Diana Dowdy Allen; his sister, Bettie Sue Jennings; and his brothers, Edward (Becky) W. Allen and Joe (Rachel) W. Allen; Sisters-in-law Valerie Allen, Betty Allen, and Anne Allen. He leaves behind his four sons, David (Kristen) B. Allen, Shan L. Allen, Vince (Suzanne) L. Allen, and Rob Williams; his daughter, Susan Williams; and his grandchildren, Drew T. Allen, Matt S. Allen, Autumn G. Allen, Ashlynne L. Williams, Raegan D. Williams, and Aidan J. Franklin.

Kenneth was a man of quiet strength and great pride—proud of his military service, dedicated throughout his working life, and happiest outdoors. He found constant companionship and joy in his dogs and carried a lifelong appreciation for nature, values that reflected his loyalty, discipline, and love of simple, meaningful moments. Kenneth’s life was defined not by grand gestures, but by steady presence, quiet resilience, and a love that showed itself in the way he cared for his family, his home, and the world around him. His legacy lives on in the values he passed down—strength without hardness, loyalty without condition, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple gifts. Those who loved him will carry his memory forward in the stories they share, the lessons he taught, and the quiet moments where his spirit still feels close.

A memorial service will be held at Preddy Funeral Home, 59 Edgewood School Lane Madison Va. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
