Karen Clay Elmore

Karen Clay Elmore, age 84, of Gordonsville, Va., passed away peacefully, Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at home, surrounded by her family.

Karen was born on January 10, 1940, in Richmond, Va., the daughter of the late Henry E. Clay and Florence E. (Epperson) Clay.

Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Hector Austin Elmore, Jr.; four sons, Edward A. Elmore of Gordonsville, Va., Charles B. Elmore (Julia) of Fredericksburg, Va., Alan W. Elmore (Shirley Fincham) of Gordonsville, Va., and Kevin C. Elmore (Debra) of Gordonsville, Va.; one sister, Joyce C. Green of Alberta, Va.; five grandchildren, Sara E. Payne (John) of Fredericksburg, Va., Charles B. Elmore II (Ashley DeMerle) of Fredericksburg, Va., Aaron G. Elmore (Payge Drakeford) of Gordonsville, Va., Caleb W. Elmore of Gordonsville, Va., and Kaci M. Elmore (Matt Barrett) of Gordonsville, Va.; and eight great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
