Joycelyn Mcgee Strickland

Joycelyn McGee Strickland, 94, of Fredericksburg, VA passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Spring Arbor of Fredericksburg. She was born on March 22, 1928 in Mamou, LA to the late Willie and Fayme McGee.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Mason, and Patricia Alt (Joe); three grandchildren, L. Roger Mason, Jr. (Colleen), Heather Mason, and Matthew Strickland; daughter-in-law, Melodie Strickland; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lynwood Houston Strickland; son, Richard Strickland; granddaughter, Melissa Lee; son-in-law, Roger Mason; brother, Ionel McGee; and sister, Zola Doise.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 12 p.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
