John Dinakar Thangiah

John Dinakar Thangiah, 74, of Sterling, Virignia,  (formerly of Gordonsville, Virginia) passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Sterling, Va.

He was born July 20, 1950 in Bangalore, India and was the son of the late Balan Thangiah and Iris Gojer Thangiah. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Emily Harini Gershom-Thangiah,  and his daughter, Beena Rachel Thangiah.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Washington, DC and was a Project Manager for Dominion Energy.

John is survived by his wife, Galina Ramsey; step daughter, Olga Khanova and husband Roman; step son, Nikolai Hanov; sisters, Doreen Kamalini Das and Rachel Malini Kamath; step-grandchildren, Erica Christina Zelenchuk, Elizabeth Christina Zelenchuk and Malory Elizabeth Hanov.

A viewing will be held Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm September 5, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home, 301 S. Main Street, Gordonsville, VA 22942. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery.
