John Floyd Murphy, 72, of Syria, VA. passed away on April 17, 2023. He was born on June 6, 1950 to the late Rev. Floyd Albert Murphy.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth May Smith Murphy; sons, Christopher Murphy and wife Amy, Benjamin Murphy and wife Angel; brother Peter Murphy; sisters, Ellen Kinlaw, Jayne Murphy, and Kathleen Zimmerman; grandchildren Brenna Murphy, Liam Murphy, and Kanein Smith, Cadie Murphy, Elia Murphy, Shaphirah Murphy.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison.  Victor Alley will be officiating.
