John W. Mcclary Jr.

John W. "Bobby" McClary Jr., of Gordonsville, VA, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, in the comfort of his own home.

Bobby was born on April 1, 1940, in Gordonsville, VA, to the late John W. McClary Sr. and Pearl M. McClary. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cecil H. McClary.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Shirley M. McClary; his twin daughters, Renee Herring of Ruckersville, and Lisa Miller of Louisa County; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Linda Johnson.

Bobby had retired from National Linen Company after 35+ years. He earned the nickname "D.D." after becoming a grandfather 36 years ago. He had a lifelong love for hunting, fishing, NASCAR races, and his four-legged fur baby, "Nabb."

Bobby was loved by many and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Maplewood Cemetery in Gordonsville, with Gary Shifflette officiating.
