John Wilson Gallihugh, 87 of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Dogwood Village in Orange, Va. He was born on September 9, 1935 to the late John Lovett Gallihugh and Nellie Myrtle Robinson Gallihugh. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Welby Ray Gallihugh, Ted Gallihugh, Don Gallihugh, Paul Gallihugh, Brer Gallihugh; and one sister, Sylvia Aylor-Yowell.

He was a retired firefighter for the City of Alexandria and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Elaine Beiriger Gallihugh; daughter, Tammy Barrett and husband Kent of Madison; son, Dan Gallihugh and wife Maureen of Midlothian; grandchildren, Ashley Umstater and husband Brian, Lindsey Barrett, Mike Gallihugh and wife Shannon, Kate Love and husband Baker; great-grandchildren, Jayden Barrett, Taylor Umstater, Emma Umstater, Brady Gallihugh, and Grayson Gallihugh.

A private service will be held at a later date.
