Jean Loyd Mahanes, 91, of Gordonsville, died Sunday March 20, 2022 at The Harbor in Stanardsville. Born February 1, 1931, in Somerset, she was the daughter of the late Allen Eugene Loyd and Irene Kennedy Loyd. Mrs. Mahanes was the wife of the late Howard Arthur "Buddy" Mahanes and she was also preceded in death by her brother, Allen Eugene Loyd, Jr. She was a member of the Gordonsville Baptist Church and a past member of The Gordonsville Volunteer Fire Co., Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Moubray and husband Mike of Gordonsville, Nancy Lawler and husband Stuart of Forest, four grandchildren, Christopher Moubray of Gordonsville, Neal Moubray of Gordonsville, Katie Clark and husband Matt of Forest, Meredith Lawler of Forest, three great-grandchildren, Grace Moubray of Stanardsville, Owen Clark and Cole Clark of Forest.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday March 25, 2022 at Gordonsville Baptist Church with interment to follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Pastor Wayne Collis will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
