James Jerry Gardiner, 77, of Madison, Virginia, died on Thursday, November 18, 2021. He was born on September 19, 1944, in Shenandoah County, a son of the late William James Gardiner and Helen Austin Gardiner. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Joyce Rebecca Gardiner; his daughter, Tammy Nicole Gardiner; and a brother, Julian Gardiner.
He is survived by a son, Tony Gardiner and his wife, Lisa and a daughter, Tiffany Gardiner and her husband, Jake Alger. In addition, he is survived by the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Breanna and Jacob Gardiner, Morgan, Marcus, and Macy Gardiner-Alger, and Mikayla Johnson and her husband Jimmy Johnson.
A graveside service was held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 22, 2021, at Madison Memorial Gardens in Pratts conducted by Russell "Bud" Alger.
The family received friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Preddy's Funeral Home in Madison, Virginia.
