James Dea "Jimmy" Frye passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 in Charlottesville. He was born May 18, 1945 to the late James Otis Frye and Georgia Anne Scott Frye.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Robinson Frye, two sons, Robin Frye and Delance "Dee" Frye and wife Tracy and three grandchildren, DeJames Frye and wife Dana, Isaiah Frye and Devon Frye.
Jimmy worked with Ross Industries for many years but his most rewarding work was with the Madison County Public Schools.
He was deacon of Antioch Baptist Church in Madison where he dedicated many years of service.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his caretakers Lori Jenkins and Tonisha Thompson.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2026 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison conducted by Rev. Frank Lewis with interment in Gordon Beasley Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 10:00 to 11:00
a.m. at the funeral home.
