James Randolph Collier

James Randolph Collier, 87 of Stanardsville, Va. passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at UVA Hospital. He was born on August 23, 1938 to the late Herbert Collier and Arline Guy Morris Collier. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie Collier; brothers, Johnnie and Delanie Collier; sisters, Beulah Shifflett, Bertha Morris, Shirley Knight, Thelma Knight, and Anna Collier.
He is survived by his sisters, Barbara Shifflett (he called her “mother hen”, and Linda Collier; a special nephew who he loved like a son, John Knight; and special niece, Joann Zedekar, who has been helping him since his wife passed away.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at First Mission Pentecostal Church with interment in the church cemetery. Pastor Frank Chapman and Gary Zedekar will officiate.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the church.
