Hunter Hall Weaver, 83 of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. He was born on February 16, 1943 to the late Leland Alcy Weaver and Anna Payne Carpenter Weaver. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Maupin Weaver, James “Woozie” Weaver, Wister Weaver; and sisters, Molly Weaver Catlett and Adelia Weaver Lohr.
Farming was Hunter’s life. Hunter was a 5th-generation farmer at Twelve Springs Farm in Madison County. He was proud that he could continue his family’s farming legacy.
Hunter was a true Madison County gentleman. He joined the Madison County Volunteer Fire Department in 1962 and served as its chaplain for 45 years. He was a charter and life member of the Madison County Rescue Squad. Hunter was also active in Madison County Young Farmers and Madison County Fair. He was a deacon and member of Fairview Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan Fishback Weaver; daughter, Melinda Weaver Wood and husband Bob; son Dennis W. Weaver and wife Cathy; sister, Phyllis Weaver Eshleman; grandchildren, Elizabeth McPherson and husband Mike, Hutch Fisher and wife Trinity, Bailey Hunter Wood, and Liam Alcie Weaver.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Fairview Christian Church with Troy Coppage and Donald Dillion officiating.
Because of limited parking at the church, the family suggests carpooling to the church. Cars can be parked at Preddy Funeral Home before proceeding to the church.
