Hubert Curtis Compton

Hubert Curtis Compton went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 7, 2026, at Charlottesville Rehab and Health Center in Charlottesville, VA.

He was born on March 4, 1935, in Tazewell, VA. He was the oldest son of the late Troy Compton and Willie Hall. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Patsy Leach and Naomi Aylor, and his wife, Lula Christian Compton.

He was a 1957 graduate of Orange County High School and attended Richmond Polytechnic Institute. He was active in aviation and also active in local civic organizations. He was also an Army Veteran. He ran Compton Insurance Agency in Orange for over thirty years.

He is survived by his daughter, Marla Lynn Compton, and two sisters, Shirley Gooding of Aroda and Eunice Chisholm of Charlottesville, three brothers, Harry L. Compton of Orange, Troy Douglas Compton of Montford, and Dellis P. Compton of Orange, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at Orange Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, with Rev. Alan Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Graham Cemetery.
