Gwendolyn Harris Davis Ward, 66 of Madison, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at UVA Hospital. She was born on March 17, 1957 to the late Charles William Harris.  She was also preceded in death by her companion dog, Parker.

She attended Stanardsville Baptist Church and was a former employee of Blue Bell of Madison.

She is survived by her mother, Vernell Aylor Harris of Haywood; husband, Robert "JR." A. Ward, Jr.; daughter, Amanda Davis Garr and husband Jeff of Madison; grandchildren, Andrew Breeden, Joshua Breeden, Eva Garr, Austin Garr, Nicholas Garr, Joshua Dudley, all of Madison, and Matthew Garr of Keswick; Tucker Sisk of Leon, who was thought of as a grandson; two special friends thought of as sisters, Alice Marshall of Orange, and Frankie Clatterbuck of Front Royal.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison conducted by Pastor Josh Shifflett. Interment will be in Etlan Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
