Genevieve Mae Nick, 95, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025. Born in Cleveland, OH, she grew up in Bedford and later moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL, where she and her husband Denny raised their family before settling in Virginia in 2015.

Genevieve was known for her grace, her love of fishing, and her competitive spirit at the card table. Above all, she cherished time with family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Denny, her parents Lawrence and Bessie Kennedy, and brothers Charles and Arch. She is survived by daughters Diana Barfield and Laura Kaufman (Blair); granddaughters Julia Hubbard (Ryan) and Kathryn Vasil (David); and great-grandchildren Emily, Denny, Jake, Ben, Claire, and Logan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont in her memory.
