Gary Wayne Long

Gary Wayne Long, 71 of Wolftown, Va, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at UVA Culpeper Hospital. He was born on July 18, 1953 to the late James Richard Long and Lucille Mae Weaver Long. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Breeden Long and son Terry Wayne Long.

He retired from VODT after many years of service.

He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Ventre and husband Wes of Mineral; brothers, Jimmy Long and wife Margaret of Rapidan and Larry Long and wife Janie of Madison; sisters, Kay Long Jenkins and friend William of Louisa and Pamela "Pam" Collier and husband Otis of Palmyra; grandchildren, Katlyn Nichole Berry and fiancé Gregory Wood and Dallas Brianna Ventre; great-granddaughter, Ariel Rae Wood-Berry; and a special friend, Karen.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with Pastor Jeff Shifflett officiating. Interment will be in Rose Park/Rapidan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 14, 2024 at the funeral home.
