Garold Eugene Stephenson

Garold Eugene Stephenson, 77 of Madison, Virginia passed away on January 3, 2025 at Culpeper Hospital. He was born on September 2, 1947 in York, Nebraska to the late Robert Lyle Stephenson and Helen Marie Leff Stephenson. He was also preceded by his wife Dorothy May Fowler Stephenson.

Garold was a U. S. Army veteran, auditor, and member of the Senior Executive Service for the Department of Defense, Office of the Inspector General.

He is survived by his sons, Byron Zadok Stephenson and wife Amy of Chambersburg, Pa., David Clayton Stephenson and wife Melissa of Fredericksburg, Va., Daniel Philip Stephenson and wife Catherine of Chantilly, Va.; sister, Rebecca Wilcoxen of Nebraska; grandchildren, Kayla Stephenson, Kelly Stephenson, and Kaci Stephenson.

He served several years in leadership roles of the Madison American Legion, Post 157. He was previously President of the Issac Walton League of America - Arlington/Fairfax Chapter. He was an active member of the Fairview Christian Church. He was also an active hay farmer to the local Madison County residents.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Culpeper National Cemetery.
